It's already clear mac versions are left out but cmon! A roadmap for studios or ppl needing to plan out their work doesn't feel like a huge ask - though the hint is getting very clear. Packed in one holistic and robust bundle, Autodesk Maya is a professional solution for 3D computer animation, modeling, simulation, and rendering needs. If this audience is won't be supported just come out and admit it, but of course it's much easier to just cash grab and say Rosetta does the job. Pretty sure many maya users started with alias back in the day and feeling left out or kind having to drop animation workflows and tool developed over the years feels like a double kick in the chest. As a freelance animator and with the new Mac Studio out makes a Mac work environment very appealing, it's portable and seems fairly powerful – an easy choice if you need to have your workflow and pipelines on client site without relaying on their machines IT people. It's been a year and it's time to cash out on Autodesk again. ![]() Justifying Maya animation tools is becoming very difficult if your'e not working on High End VFX movies or production houses. I've had to switch my rendering/pipeline over to C4D due quite a few design studios running on Mac. Switching workflow to C4D / blender is becoming a necessity if you're on a mac environment. But at least a heads-up for mac users would be appreciated. Or maybe the original studio was using Maya in-house before starting with South Park. I'd wager Maya might be more efficient than Toon Boom for this style of animation. We had a lot of scripts handling basic animation and libraries full of preset key poses. I think i understand maya workstations are heavily modelled on PC and Linux. Maya was good for asset management and great for animating (in this case) textured planes.
